well it was just an idea, some exploration news and such, but maybe we can change that section into something else. Any suggestions?

Oh no, don't get me wrong; I think it's an absolutely wonderful idea!
When the game is out in alpha and people are playing and exploring, it'll be a fantastic thing to have going on, but equally it's the sort of thing that would need to have a following before then in order to get people sending in their stories when the time comes. The question would be how to get that going?
While this forum is more of an "explorer's clearing house" than anything like a guild/squadron/in-game enterprise, it would be really great if it became something like the
"Royal Geographical Society" of the SC universe. I think if that was something you were interested in going for as a goal for Deep Space Magazine, then a way to get the ball rolling would be to get some articles on
early space exploration for issue one of DSM, (special first issue titled "Humanity's First Steps" or something). Written from a "retrospective" and "glorified" perspective, much like 18th century explorers are viewed now?
You might even approach SC/CIG to write/make some advertisements for ships or for sensor pods and similar that might be in game when it goes out in alpha... "Origin Jumpworks presents it's finest jump-point detection array, the
Searchlight MX..." ...or similar?!
Just a few thoughts, and I hope they make sense?
